Question About Green Card

Paul asks…

Real Important about expired Green Card.?

My Dad has a expired Green Card/Passport from the Philippines that expired in 2008; What does this mean? What should he do?

Best Answer:

Expired green card ( permanent green card) DOES NOT mean his STATUS is expired. He needs to renew his Green Card as by immigration law, he must have a VALID green card in his possession. He needs to fill out Form 1-90 to renew his card. The form and instruction is on the website below. To renew his Philippine passport, he needs to go in person to a nearest Philippine Embassy.
(If he is OUTSIDE the US, he can not renew his card, his status may have been revoked.)
Also, dual citizenship is allowed in the Philippines. I know a lot of Filipino people that has them.
