can I travel to ukraine with my greencard?
Hi, I’m citizen of Iran and I have the valid passport from Iran. Right now I’m living in U.S.A and I have a valid greencard! can I visit ukraine without visa?
YOU WOULD NEED A VISA ISSUED BY THE UKRAINE IN ORDER TO VISIT THAT COUNTRY. ALL PASSENGERS ENTERING UKRAINE MUST ON ARRIVAL FILL OUT THE IMMIGRATION CARD. CARD MUST BE PRESENTED TOGETHER WITH A PASSPORT WHEN ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY. VISITORS OF ANY NATIONALITY ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO HOLD RETURN TICKETS UPON ARRIVAL IN UKRAINE.
FURTHERMORE, (AND THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR CITIZENS OF IRAN), RANDOM CHECKS TO PROVE SUFFICIENT FUNDS WILL APPLY TO:
– NATIONALS OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN.
– NON-COMPLIANCE WITH ENTRY OR TRANSIT REGULATIONS WILL
RESULT IN FINES OF BETWEEN USD 700-. AND USD 800.- FOR THE
CARRIER AND DEPORTATION OF PASSENGER BY SAME CARRIER ON
FIRST AVAILABLE FLIGHT.
Sorry for the capitalization, but I just copied and pasted this from my computer using TIMATIC…an official airline guide for International Documentation Requirements. You need a visa despite having a US GreenCard (resident of the USA). In other words, Ukraine is basing this visa requirement on your citizenship, not your residenceship in the USA.
You may have to check with your embassy or consulate if you feel that this is not accurate.
I hope this helps you…
