I am a US permanent resident but I have lost my Visa Waiver card…?
Hey, I have a little problem on my hands, I have been a US permanent resident for close to 2 years now, and for the first time since I got my green card I am going back to the UK for 2 weeks in just under 3 days. The only problem is despite all my piles of immigration documents I cannot find the green Visa Waiver card that would normally be in my passport that I came into the USA with those 2 years ago. I know that immigration has a photocopy of my card in their files etc. I just want to know, am I going to have any major issues at the airport?
Thank you so much, the I-94 was what I was worried about. 🙂
And yes, I did adjust my status within the USA. I thought I had lost the card, im glad to hear it needed to be handed in, thank you so much once again.
Visa waiver card? Do you mean the Visa Waiver I-94? If that is what you are talking about, do not worry about it. That is for non-immigrant visitors who do not need a B1/B2 visa, which I am guessing you were at one point. You are a legal permanent resident, not a non-immigrant visitor.
Did you enter as on the Visa Waiver Program as a visitor and then adjust your status to a permanent resident? If that is the case the interviewer at USCIS probably took it out of your passport, because those have to be turned in.
